WHAT WE DO
Our work preserving the Buffalo River Watershed
Watershed Protection
Preserving water quality
By working with local landowners to ensure that their property remains wild and undeveloped, we help protect the water quality in the Buffalo River watershed. Water quality is an especially important consideration in this area because tourism and recreation on the Buffalo is a major economic driver for North Central Arkansas.
Wilderness Preservation
Protecting natural habitats
Buffalo River Foundation is focused on preserving wild and scenic lands in their natural state. We have identified several threatened or endangered plant and animal species on our preserved properties, highlighting the importance of leaving those lands untouched.
Historic Sites
Telling our Arkansas story
The Buffalo River watershed has a rich and fascinating history, and many of our preservation projects include historic structures. Buffalo River Foundation is committed to preserving these important parts of Arkansas history.
"Cooperative conservation is the most successful model we have for preserving the wild streams, mountains, and caves that make Buffalo River Watershed a national treasure. At Buffalo River Foundation, we specialize in working with local landowners to help them protect the untouched beauty of their property."
- Ross Noland, Executive Director of the Buffalo River Foundation
